Open Research Assistant (HiWi) Position
Human factors have a crucial interplay with modern AI, NLP and LLM development, from the way data is obtained (e.g. in low-resource scenarios) to the need to understand and control models (e.g. through explainability methods). AI technology also does not exist in a vacuum but must be validated together with the application experts and stakeholders it should serve.
To support us in our research on human-centric NLP and AI at LMU Munich, we are looking for a research assistant (HiWi). You will be part of our research projects, working on the development of research code, running experiments, doing data analysis and possibly other related research tasks. Research topics include interpretability, model evaluation and control, and low-resource NLP.
You should have experience in Python programming and machine learning, ideally including also experience with NLP and LLMs.
The position is targeted at 10 hours per week. The working hours are flexible but you should be located in Munich. To apply, please send a mail to join (at) michael-hedderich.de with the subject /HiWi/ and append your CV, a transcript of records (unofficial is fine), an example of a past coding project and a short description of the type of research you are interested in. Applications are processed as they come in.
